Optimus Grime & Lawcifer..WEAPONS OF MASS PRODUCTION *** The name "Sound Teckz" is a relatively new moniker, however Optimus Grime and his brother Lawcifer have been producing tracks for almost half a decade now. Based in Cleveland, Ohio, a city that has seen its share of high-profile Hip-Hop artists, such as Ray Cash, Chip tha Ripper and the legendary Bone Thugs N' Harmony, as well as numerous successful production teams, the Sound Teckz understand that they have their work cut out for them in terms of getting noticed. But they are making baby steps towards progress and possibly becoming the next notable producers in the 216. Formed in early 2007, the Sound Teckz have seen their share of difficulties. From equipment problems and financial issues to incarceration and theft, the Teckz are no strangers to tribulation. However, in light of these set-backs, they have managed to produce tracks for a few acclaimed artists as well as guest spots on several national mix-tapes. So what makes the Sound Teckz different from all the other producers you ask? Simple. Their chemistry. While using primarily digital equipment, samples and a few 'secret" methods, Optimus Grime and Lawcifer have been able to take a 3 second sample and turn it into a masterpiece sought after by artists at first-listen. This ability stems from the music they grew up around as well as the music they loathe. The current state of Hip-Hop and rap music seems to make the Sound Teckz cringe at the mere thought of it. This is a major driving force behind their goal, which is to provide real lyricists and MC's with the perfect sound to express their ideas. With a wide spectrum of influences, including everything from classic hip-hop to heavy metal to country to television, the Sound Teckz have all but mastered the art of beat production. Basically, they make what they like to hear and think sounds good and its becoming more and more apparent that they are not the only ones. From VIP slots in the hottest night spots to DJ shout-outs, they are being recognized in numerous hip-hop circles around Cleveland, and its only the beginning. The Sound Teckz are working on becoming nationally known and eventually, globally. The Sound Teckz sound can be distinguished by their combination of clean, pounding drum lines, suspenseful intros, smooth bass and most importantly their crisp sampling of some of the most magnificent sounds they can find.
