DIAMOND AWARDS WEEKEND RECAP-

(Wendy Day, Me, Grand Prix, KingPin at the 9th annual Duval Diamond Awards)

This past weekend (Thur-Mon) I was in Jacksonville Florida for the 9th annual Duval Diamond Awards. Grand Prix ( @grandprixmusic ) a native of Duval picked me up from the airport (we had kept in touch since meeting at the S.E.A's) He took me to a couple spots the first night I arrived and I met DJ's: Pretty Rick The Great and DJ Kool Aid. (BOTH outstanding DJs BTW!keep your ears and eyes on them) Everynight I went out Grand Prix was nice enough to pick me up and introduce me to TONS of people...he was the perfect person for me to connect with from Duval.

Friday Night we went over to Bourboune Street. There I was able to meet up with Kingpin (my brotha from anotha) Montana White (watch out for this DJ) Cole, Sweetness and all the ladies from Strong Family, and a bunch of other people. It was really good.

Sat night was at Plush. THIS CLUB IS HUGE! there are 3 clubs in one, so the night started in one of the smaller clubs, Lepord Lounge with a USDA video shoot, then the B.G. meet and great/Listening party. I got to sit and talk with Wendy Day for a little while so that was super dope. I got to see again TJ of TJSDJS, Tony Neal of The Core DJs, KingPin, the women of Strong Family, Bigga Rankin, DJ Kool Aid, Montana White, also that night I got to meet Keith from TJs DJs, Elora Mason, Sho Zoe, Swazy Baby, T Roy, Ms Dynasty, Shane, Kaspa (hittmenn djs), Bigg V, DJ Byrd, a ton of guys from CTE USDA like Boo Rossini, Garfield, Dizzy (manager for Ball Greezy), Papa Duck (Big Spenda) and his manager Zoe, Young Cash (Nappy boy), Ron from 2fresh Ent, B.G., Migget Mack, Vernan (Lex Promotions) and a ton more people. Plush holds about 2000 ppl and I cant explain how dope this club is!you just have to go and see for yourself.

Sunday was the Diamond Awards-They did an amazing job for only have a few short weeks of putting it all together. The performances were good, the hosts were awesome (T Roy and Ms Dynasty) and the big highlights of the night: Tony Neal recieved Man of the year awards-Wendy Day recieved the Big Boss award and TJ from TJsDJs recieved the Lifetime Achievement Award. I was so excited when Elora Mason was named Publicist of the year, I had been routing for her and Nancy Byron to take home the award, it was an honor to be in the same catagory nominated next to all the publicist but especially those two who put in work like no other publicist I have seen! I got to say I was super dumb shocked when almost at the end of the night, they announed Midwest Publicist of the Year and called my name. I am sure all of Duval thinks I am an idiot because I was in such shock and I HATE being the center of attention on stage I went stupid accepting my award. I forgot everyone and everything. But it wouldnt be me if I didnt stumble lol.
So here is my chance to maybe redeme myself a little:
I want to thank all the websites and magazines that ever hit me back and showed love to any of my clients over the past few years. I want to thank all my clients-without you I wouldnt be here Thank you for trusting me to be a part of your lives! My partners ChiChi and MJK who push me who I know I wouldnt still be doing this if it wasnt for them and thier uncontitional support and thier love for me to always keep it 100!. Kim Ellis for leading by example, Wendy Day for all the advice and both of those women thank you for being in my life!Q-for being my mentor and showing my tough love, x and fresh for being instrumental in Ohio hip hop. The Nerve DJs who always got my back! and My boo, I love you no matter what! and forevery one who believed or didnt/dont believe-WE GOT A DIAMOND AWARD IN OHIO-ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE I AM PROOF OF IT! and BIG HUGE thank you to Bigga Rankin, Cole, Strong Family, and The Diamond Awards for the love. I am honored and humbled! Congrats to all the nominees and winners! DONT SLEEP ON THE DUVAL MOVEMENT THEY A FORCE!
